At Almost Home Pet Resort we love all breeds and do not discriminate. However, aggressive animals are not permitted. The welfare of our staff and other animals in our care comes first. If you feel your dog may have any issues regarding strangers, please set up a meet and greet before booking your stay. We reserve the right to refuse boarding to any animal that shows aggression upon arrival.

Intact Animals
We accept well behaved pets that are not spayed or neutered. However, we do not accept females in season. Please make other arrangements if your dog comes in heat. We understand that timing does not always work when you need to board. Any female that is in season or comes in season while at our boarding facility will be charged $50/night. We will keep her apart from any intact males to the best of our ability, however, we will not be held responsible for any accidental litters that may come from their stay.

Food
We highly recommend bringing your pet’s regular food for their stay. This helps eliminate digestive distress and allows for a familiar meal in a new setting. Please provide your pet’s food in a resealable bag or closed container.

If food is not provided, we will give your pet our house food at $2/meal. $5 minimum charge.

Medication
Please provide prescription bottles with instructions when dropping off medications. We ask that you provide your dog’s special pill treats if needed.

Medication Charges
1 prescription pill up to 2x day – no charge
More than 1 prescription pill 2x day, $1 per dosage

We currently do not provide injections.

Special Needs
Not all pets are suited for boarding. Some include the elderly, immune compromised, and those with recent surgeries. Please consider boarding at your vet’s office or using a pet sitter if your pet requires extra care.

While we can accommodate some animals with special needs, a veterinary boarding kennel or pet sitter may be best for your special needs pet. While we have extensive animal knowledge, we are not vets. Animals we prefer not to take in include pets with recent surgeries that have not fully healed, dogs prone to seizures on a regular basis, older pets with extreme mobility issues. Please call and speak to us before booking your stay if your dog has any special needs. If we feel we can take care of your pet properly we will gladly accept your pet. Additional charges may apply.

Vaccinations
All pets must be up to date on their vaccinations.
We require the following vaccinations before boarding with us:
Rabies
DHPP (Distemper/Parvo)
Bordetella (Canine Cough)

Recommended:
Lepto
Canine Influenza

All pets must be on flea/tick preventatives.
